Gentryville is a small, yet gorgeous community surrounded by green and open spaces. Its amenities consist of churches, a post office, a cemetery, and a few specialty retailers. Additionally, it has the Colonel Williams Jones Home, a home-turned-museum that belonged to Whig party representative William Jones. This town is close to Lincoln State Park, which is located in Lincoln City. The park was created to honor Abraham Lincoln’s boyhood home; there, you can camp, enjoy an outdoor event at its amphitheater, and more. Little Pigeon Creek Wetland Conservation Area is another green space close to town. This 270-acre area is home to bird species like songbirds and waterfowl. For more to see and do, you can make a 20-mile drive to Boonville. On West Main Street and West Locust Street, you’ll find a smorgasbord of stores and restaurants like Goodwill, Taco Bell, Dollar General, and other establishments. Warrick County Museum is also in this area. The museum was once an elementary school that existed from 1901 to 1976. Since Gentryville doesn’t have any schools, students go to schools in nearby communities.
